‘British girl was raped ten times by attacker on Gibraltar’: Spanish man, 25, is charged with sexually assaulting an underage child

A young British girl was allegedly raped ten times by a Spanish male careworker in Gibraltar, who has been charged by police, according to local reports.
In a statement, Royal Gibraltar Police said Pedro Luis Garcia Vallejo, 25, of La Linea, was arrested and had his initial hearing in court on Thursday.
He was remanded in custody, and is set to return to court on Friday.
Vallejo has been charged with ‘one count of Sexual Activity with a Child: Abuse of Position of Trust and 10 counts of Rape against an underage female,’ police said.
According to the Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation, Vallejo worked at a children’s residential care home in the British Overseas Territory.
The police did not report on the identity or nationality of the young girl, but local reports said that she was British.

News of the man’s arrest comes after a series of alleged sexual assaults involving British victims.
In August, an 18-year-old British woman was alleged to have been raped by five French men and a Swiss tourist she had met at a party in Magaluf, Majorca.
The assault is alleged to have happened at dawn on August 14 at the hotel in the town found on the on the holiday island – renowned for its rowdy parties and cheap alcohol as much as its white-sand beaches.
A security guard found the young woman crying on the floor in the hotel’s lobby – 400 yards from Magaluf’s party strip – at around 5am on Monday.
Earlier in August, a 21-year-old British woman told Greek police that she was raped by an Israeli man after meeting him in a nightclub in Athens.
The young tourist was allegedly attacked at the man’s home in the early hours the previous week after a night out in the Keramikos area.
She told police that during the sexual assault, the man’s three friends appeared out of nowhere and filmed her with their mobile phones.
The woman, who had been partying with her friend from Portugal beforehand, told the group she was leaving but the man refused to stop the act, according to local media.
After a struggle the woman managed to escape the property and told police of the incident. A case has been filed against the Israeli man for rape.
In July, British tourist accused a 47-year-old Greek man of raping her in a hotel while on holiday on the island of Rhodes, according to local media.
